New Rig and New Mic

I am so excited over some additions to my ham shack.

(Well really it is the top of my dresser in my bedroom at the moment, which I hope can be moved after we build an addition. )

The new rig is a TEN TEC Argosy 525A

and the mic is a

Golden Eagle.

The whole shack is pictured below in all its messy glory.

Current equipment from left to right:

Barely visable is an old Motorala business radio reprogrammed to a couple local repeaters.

Then comes the Astron 12A power supply which runs all of my equipment.

My HW-8 with a MFJ Econo Tuner on top.

Then the Swan 500C with PS/Speaker on loan from a buddy.

Last but not least is my new Ten Tec Argosy.

(Not shown is my HW-7 and my Yaesu 2m HT.)

The keys are a Nye Speed-X and an MFJ $15 special.

Mics-- are a Shure High Z mic (on loan) and the Golden Eagle (which has the cool engraving on the back. Not to mention the old school feel to it--and its mine.)

Well that is my state of the art shack--hope to hear you on the bands!

Homebrew Dipole Antennas

You can purchase one of these from me if you'd like. Email me for pricing and other information at n3dvibill@gmail.com. These 1/4 wave single band dipoles are made using 18 gauge insulated wire and are capable of handling 200 watts of power. They have a center insulator made of 1/4 inch plexiglass and all connections use solid connecting crimp-on lugs and stainless steel nuts and bolts. The SO - 39 is also mounted to the insulator with stainless steel hardware and has been weather sealed on the back side to protect it and the solder connection from the elements. The wire used for the wings of the antenna is flexible. This means that these lightweight antennas are easily put up and taken down, making them perfect for Field-Day, Go Kits, or for camping use. As a permanent instillation they will give years of useful service. These antennas are fully assembled and tested.
