I recently purchased a kits from Doug Hendricks of qrpkits.com which was a great little kit. With good instructions and a great board. It was very easy to build and very professionally kitted.
I installed it into my tuner. The Tayloe Indicator is QRP only, but by switching to the operate position I can still use the tuner for my QRO rig.
It was a fun and inexpensive ---and a very good addition to my shack.
This kit is currently available at qrpkits.com
I'm interested in setting up a Tayloe SWR Indicator for my 100W rigs but I've read that it is "QRP Only!". Did you make modifications or ??? I'd love to know if there is a mod that makes it work safely and reliably for QRO.
ReplyDeleteSo it seems that a rf transformer would likely be appropriate such that if a similar bridge was formed could allow the impedances to be higher (200 ohms or more) and the power dissipation lessened. Anyway, I don't think that there is an easy way to scale this minimalist circuit without it getting complex. However, there is likely a way to create a self-powered indicator that lets one "dip" to resonance a tuner. Something to ponder...
